In November 2023, our lives changed forever. We lost our incredible 11 year old son, Maximus Mason, suddenly and without warning. His loss shook us to our very foundation, leaving a void that we know will never fully heal.
Max was a light in our lives—a son, a big brother, a best friend—and losing him has been the hardest journey we’ve ever had to face.
As we’ve tried to find joy again with his surviving siblings, Paxton and Kailyx, we’ve learned just how isolating and overwhelming grief and loss can be. Watching our children navigate the pain and personal trauma of losing their big brother has been heartbreaking leaving us feeling hopeless at times. Finding resources to help them heal has been anything but easy.
That’s why we created Moose Tracks of Hope.
We understand how impossible and overwhelming a family can feel when your world has been turned upside down in an instance. We also understand how important it is to recognize the difficulties siblings and children of loss will face. It is easy as parents to be overcome with pain and sadness, the far more difficult task is finding the strength to support your other children and their grieving needs. For our family, celebrating Max in his favorite places and activities has given our children an opportunity to find a new sense of joy while we feel connected to our missing piece.
Our goal at Moose Tracks of Hope is to offer other families a glimmer of light during the darkest most difficult moments. Through this we strive to bring a rejuvenated happiness to families who are grieving the loss of a child or sibling.
Through retreats, connection, and support, we aim to:
• Ease the burden families feel, even if just for a short time.
• Build a network where parents can find strength in one another, sharing encouragement, support, advice, and understanding.
• Foster fellowship among siblings who share the unique and painful bond of losing a brother or sister.
• Honor the memory of those who have been lost through individualized experiences.
Grief is a heavy journey, but no one should have to walk it alone. At Moose Tracks of Hope, we’re here to help guide families through this painful and lifelong journey with compassion, understanding, and moments of joy.
Together, we can help bring hope to families, one track at a time.
